　　Jacobs is seeking a qualified Information Technology (IT) professional to support the USSOCOM SITEC II Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. 　　Job Description

　　Virtualization Engineer performs tier three systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. The Virtualization Engineer provides operational support and technical expertise for the engineering, deployment and O&M of hyper converged server and storage solutions including but not limited to Nutanix, Dell, and VMware. The job duties include daily management of the virtualization environment; responsibility for the virtual machine lifecycle management; ensure virtualization software suite is kept updated and secure; assist with virtualization related problem resolution; actively engage in virtualization capacity planning; troubleshoot issues with virtualization guest operating systems—specifically Linux and Windows; and function as a point of contact for work requests related to the virtualization environment. The ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users also is essential. Continually transition knowledge to the government staff through training and assistance on how to use the technology using industry best practices.

　　Typical duties include:

　　Engineer and lead the enterprise virtual infrastructure and system software components

　　Performing end-user support requiring System Engineer Subject Matter Expertise support

　　Establish and document baselines to measure and manage the capacity and performance of the enterprise network

　　Collaborate with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on technical support systems’ hardware and software and making recommendations regarding upgrades or changes based on industry best practices and emerging trends

　　Qualifications

　　Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI

　　Education Requirements:

　　Bachelor's Degree. Significant relevant experience will be considered in place of formal education.Certification Requirements:

　　DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II or higherAND

　　Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) OR

　　Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional (NCAP) OR

　　VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

　　Experience Requirements:

　　At least 4-8 years of related experience of intensive and progressive experience in the candidate’s field of study and specialization.

　　VMware Horizon View systems implementation experience including:

　　Horizon View

　　VMware vSphere ESXi experience

　　Microsoft Windows 7, 10

　　Microsoft Active Directory

　　Nutanix AOX

　　Windows PowerShell

　　Experience working interactively with supported users and resolving VDI-related issues.

　　Experience in implementing and supporting zero-client technology, VMware vSphere, Hypervisor Management, Active Directory, GPO Management, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure deployments.

　　Essential Functions

　　Work Environment

　　Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).

　　Work assignments vary based on client requirements.

　　Work may include travel with the military to participate in exercises in austere conditions

　　Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, icy, and windy climates.

　　Physical Requirements

　　Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. It may require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

　　It may require climbing, working at heights, and in small confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.

　　Equipment and Machines

　　General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

　　Servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.

　　Operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment.

　　May require operating motor vehicles.

　　Attendance

　　Regular attendance by the established work schedule is mandatory.

　　It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.

　　You may be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, or exercise

　　You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work

　　The position may require night and weekend work and could include travel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located in areas with field conditions

　　Travel

　　Continental and overseas travel may be required. It is important to maintain a current passport.Other Essential Functions

Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. 　　Grooming and dress are usually business casual but dependent on the client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
