The Vice President of Divisional Merchandise for Batteries Plus will direct and support the development of merchandising plans and operational systems to achieve financial objectives. Utilize sales, research, and trend analytics to develop strategies for merchandise categories and optimize product assortments. The Vice President of Divisional Merchandise will develop merchandise plans and pricing that support key strategic initiatives, launches, top sellers, seasonal campaigns, and trends, while partnering across functions to manage vendor relationships, identify new vendors, and negotiate favorable contract terms.

Responsibilities:
Merchandising
Develop and deliver annual and longer-term strategies to achieve/exceed sales, sell-throughs, gross margin, inventory turns, GMROI, and Adjusted EBITDA
Establish and deliver the objectives that target financial results supporting brand/category vision
Partner with cross-functional leaders to create financial targets that align with overall growth objectives
Develop and lead the overarching merchandising strategy for all channels, including sales, gross product margin, inventory productivity, assortment strategy, forecasts, buying plans, and promotional and markdown strategies
Assume responsibility for long-range financial plans/goals, forecasting accuracy and inventory management
Lead inventory optimization and flow management including stock levels, allocation, replenishment, receipt flow and turns
Manage P&L budgets
Act as the champion of change management and process improvement through leadership that identifies opportunities and allocates resources to drive efficiencies, improve accuracy and best practices
Develop a deep understanding of our customer, partner to identify and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
Understand the competitive landscape and capitalize on opportunities
Attracts and develops talent and selects high-caliber team members, both internally and outside the company
Ensures compliance with industry and legal regulations and best practices, and adherence to company processes and procedures
Presents to and interacts with the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors
Leadership
Create a culture of execution and problem solving through creation of clear goals, expectations, ethics, methods, measurements and validation to achieve desired results
Provide leadership in order to create a common language and increase associate engagement
Prepare and support the team through times of change
Provide coaching, development opportunities and corrective guidance as needed
Hold regular coaching and development meetings with direct reports. Prepare regular performance evaluations and documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Program Management, Supply Chain or related field
Management experience and a minimum of 7 years of category management, marketing and/or purchasing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master's Degree Marketing, Program Management, Supply Chain or related field
Excellent management skills, negotiation skills, verbal and written communication skills, as well as solid quantitative and analytical skills
Demonstrated history of utilizing skills of influence, persuasion, and effective negotiation to further goals required, as is the ability to work in a team setting, drive organizational transformations, and support change management within the organization
Strong presentation and customer service focus. Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and in a team environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to obtain information and data that requires professionalism and tact
Demonstrated knowledge of multi-level distribution networks
Up to 10% domestic travel with overnight stays possible
