Actalent is hiring a hands-on Vehicle Test Engineer with experience in an automotive product development environment. You will gather and analyze system configuration, and performance validation requirements for engine systems of On-Highway trucks. You will work onsite in Redford, MI, and will be required to travel for summer/winter truck testing (40% remote travel).

　　Job Requirements:

　　Gather and analyze System Configuration, and performance validation requirements for engine systems of On-Highway trucks

　　Troubleshoot System level performance failures, Perform Root cause failure analysis to prevent potential failures and identify areas of system performance improvements

　　Instrumentation experience is highly desired. Must be highly proficient with a Multimeter.

　　Experience with Vector tools: CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, also MATLAB, Simulink are a plus

　　Develop control plans, leverage data analysis tools, diagnostics and calibration data using CANape

　　Define performance requirements and specifications for test cell operators and create detailed test instructions (DTI) documentation for lab and machine testbed programs

　　Generate performance graphs, histograms, identify data abnormalities, develop validation plans, review results from validation, implement required corrective actions and maintain technical documentation

　　Perform 1D simulation using GT Power to generate performance plots, create actual test condition documentation and collaborate with simulation teams for test data correlation.

　　Must have post-college experience or translatable work experience within the automotive industry

　　Knowledge of diesel engine combustion, after-treatment, and, control systems

　　Instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, calibration

　　Experience Chassis or Towable Chassis Dyno

　　Qualifications:

　　Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Automotive / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics / Controls Engineering

　　Knowledge of diesel engine and after-treatment operation and emissions

　　Strong fundamentals in engineering thermodynamics

　　Ability to communicate and maintain professional and social interaction in a multi-cultural environment
