　　Job Specifications

　　The Utility Specialist position is primarily focused on learning the natural gas utility and locating underground gas facilities. This position provides many growth opportunities to learn and develop skills within the field of natural gas operations and maintenance.

　　SALARY RANGE: $22.26 - $33.53 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

　　REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Operations Supervisor

　　LOCATION:Wichita, Kansas

　　Must live within 30 minutes from reporting location.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

　　Locate underground facilities.

　　Report gas leaks on service lines, broken meters and service seals which are observed in the course of work.

　　Installation of Natural Gas meters.

　　Promote safety in all phases of the operations.

　　Perform leak detection.

　　Promote the Company service plans.

　　Provide requested after hours (on-call) services as required.

　　ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

　　Provide operational support to install, remove and replace gas meters, complete meter routines and turn-on and shut-off activities as needed.

　　Contact customers concerning collection on delinquent accounts as needed.

　　May receive company training in gas operations or appliance repair.

　　QUALIFICATIONS:

　　No experience required. Training provided.

　　High school diploma or equivalent required.

　　KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

　　Familiarity of Black Hills service territory and the surrounding area.

　　Ability to accurately read meters and enter reads on keyboard.

　　Good customer relation skills.

　　Ability to be flexible and work where needed.

　　Computer skills desirable.

　　Excellent team and interpersonal skills required.
