  Job Summary:

  As a Unit Manager at the National Visa Center, you will supervise, coach and develop your team. You'll conduct interviews and make hiring decisions. You may be required to give briefings to visitors and participate in conference calls. Of critical importance is that you provide timely deliverables and performance-related data to the U.S. State Department.   There is an on-site expectation with work-from-home flexibility in this position. Operational needs and our telework policy determine your work location. Training is in person, on-site for a period of approximately 6 weeks. Your presence may be required in the office for trainings, meetings, or to resolve badge issues. Any additional remedial training and/or supervision will be held in-office at the National Visa Center.

  Job Responsibilities:

  Directly supervises, coaches and develops Supervisors, Workload Coordinators and other management staff as assigned.

  Hires and manages a technically proficient and professionally capable staff throughout the life of the contract.

  Provides timely deliverables and performance related data to the customer in order to allow adequate monitoring, oversight, and performance measurement of support services.

  Suggests process improvements to improve service delivery and performance.

  Promotes innovation, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  Resolves problems with minimal disruption to the activities being performed under the contract.

  Participates in conference calls and digital video conferences as required with overseas posts, CA/VO, DOS, and other U.S. Government agencies. May be requested to provide formal and informal briefings to visitors.

  You may be required to perform other duties as assigned to advance the business unit’s mission. Additionally, occasional travel may be required.

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree; or four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

  Two (2) years of progressive management experience.

  Four (4) years of analytical or information processing experience in a field that equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully manage teams of analysts.

  Strong verbal and written command of the English language.

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  Strong administrative and organizational skills.

  Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products, and advanced Excel knowledge & skills

  Experience working with NICE Contact Center Interaction Recording Software preferred

  Ability to interact with people at all levels.

  Demonstrate a professional work ethic,

  Basic understanding of geography

  Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  You must live within 90 miles of Portsmouth, NH, and be a U.S. citizen.

  Additionally, you must successfully complete a credit and criminal background check and be able to obtain a Secret-level federal security clearance.

  Physical Demands:

  While performing the duties of this job, you may occasionally be required to stand; walk; sit; lift up to 20 lbs.; bend; reach; carry; stoop; kneel; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; speak; or hear.

  Specific vision abilities may be required to perform the job which may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, or the ability to adjust focus.
