　　Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:• Be a permanent New York State (NYS) resident and/or actively enrolled in a NYS college, university, or graduate program.• Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program) or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate program.• Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent.• Able to work full-time Summer (37.50 hours weekly) and part-time (10-15 hours per week with the opportunity to work more hours depending on availability) fall and spring. 　　Duties Description The Underwriting Department evaluates risk to determine appropriate premium for new and existing customers when issuing or renewing workers' compensation insurance policies, ensuring disciplined pricing, operational efficiency, and ease of doing business with NYSIF to provide coverage at the lowest possible cost. Underwriting consists of the following functions:• Evaluating and binding risks for coverage.• Reviewing and billing audits and self-audit reports to adjust premium.• Review and responding to communications from customers.• Processing assignment diaries and other work requests.
