  Description Planned Parenthood North Central States Ultrasound Technician - Minneapolis, MN Starting salary for candidate who meets minimum requirements (Experience will be compensated): $30+/hour $2/hr Weekend, Bilingual and/or $4/hr Float Differential provided when shift requirements are met. Potential for an additional $1/hr-$3/hr differential based on services provided. Typical Schedule: 16 hours/week Union Membership: This position is represented by SEIU. Click here to learn more: What to expect: Under direct supervision of the Health Center Manager, the Ultrasound Technician performs a wide variety of functions. Ultrasound Technician provides compassionate, confidential, and quality ultrasound medical care, as well as excellent customer service. Ultrasound Technicians are advocates in implementing our mission of "To affirm the right to reproductive and sexual health and freedom for all by providing excellent care, trusted education, and fierce advocacy." They may perform other related duties to support health center operations as assigned. Schedule: Thursdays 10am-6pm at Minneapolis Health Center and Fridays: 9:30am-5pm at Brooklyn Park Health Center. Responsibilities: This position will impact us with the following contributions: Perform ultrasound medical services in accordance with Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) Medical Standards and Guidelines (MS&G) Perform transvaginal and abdominal ultrasound for gestational age dating, abortion follow-up, and Intrauterine Contraceptives (IUC) localization Maintain clear and accurate medical records, utilizing the electronic health record system Assist in the maintenance of facility for cleanliness, appropriate instruments, and optimum supply levels Assist maintaining ultrasound equipment for proper functioning in accordance with the policies and standards of PPNCS and regulatory agencies Participate in the quality assurance/risk management process for medical protocols, regulatory agency compliance, HR policies, and workplace safety policies Provide appropriate and accurate information to patients related to the ultrasound procedure Maintain patient and health center confidentiality Adhere to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and patient privacy regulations Follow all state laws regarding mandatory reporting Comply with state laws governing abortion services. Minimum Qualifications: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), or graduate of an Ultrasound Technologist program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). High School diploma or equivalent education Current CPR certification Benefits: This position is eligible for paid time off (PTO), Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST), and participation in the 403 (b) retirement plan. Please note: We require all PPNCS employees, volunteers, interns, and fellows to have a current, up-to date, COVID vaccine (Exemptions may be provided for medical, disability (ADA) or religious reasons.)
