Summary
Your core responsibilities will be to implement targeted recruitment strategies and to work one-on-one with prospective transfer students, guiding them through their exploration of, application to, and enrollment at U-M. You will focus on making U-M accessible to students who may not see themselves represented at U-M, such as students who are low-income, students who identify as Black, Latinx, Native American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Middle Eastern and North African, military veterans, community college students, student parents, and non- and post-traditional students.

The nature of this role requires overnight travel and working evening and weekend hours. Employees in the position have the option of working a hybrid schedule of days on campus in Ann Arbor and working remotely.
Responsibilities*
Advise prospective transfer students on the details of the transfer process during one-on-one meetings (virtual, in person, phone, and email) and at recruitment events.
Present to prospective students and discuss the value and benefits of a U-M liberal arts education, including the holistic set of campus resources.
Develop, implement and evaluate on-campus visits and events for prospective and admitted transfer students.
Build the transfer pipeline by collaborating with community college advisors and faculty.
Represent LSA at community college recruitment events and with internal audiences.
Use our database systems to track applicant status, run reports and monitor trends.
Participate in the hiring, supervision and mentoring of student employees.
Collaborate with the team to implement strategies for successful matriculation of admitted students.
Coordinate your own travel schedule.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree (liberal arts and sciences degree preferred).
Six months to 1+ years of experience related to college recruitment, college admissions, education or a related area.
Demonstrated experience working with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and identities.
Intermediate proficiency with presenting to groups and managing events.
Applied experience with project management best practices, including responsiveness and prioritization.
Interest in delivering high-quality customer service.
