The role of a Telecom Lineman is a specialty trained technician with an expertise in the construction and repair of overheadplant or RF/Fiber lines. This Lineman will also have extensive training in specialty equipment to service these overheadprojects.Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstall and/or repair aerial CTV, coaxial and fiber cablePlacing, relocating and removing poles, lines, open wire, drop and block wire in order to maintain efficient operation of the customer's facilitiesSet up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriersLead Groundman in daily work to safely complete jobsDirect traffic in accordance with local DOT guidelines as necessarySkills & Qualifications1+ year of experience in telecommunications construction requiredKnowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safelyAbility to climb/Gaff poles correctlyAbility to read and understand blue printsAbility to read and understand work ordersAbility to identify aerial equipmentAbility to work under pressure and in a fast paced and quickly changing environmentAbility to work on call including evenings and weekends as neededAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsAbility to work and climb up to 35 feetAbility to lift up to 70 lbs.Valid driver's license requiredAbility to climb poles with climbing equipment safelyMove and relocate RF and Fiber serviceFamiliar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelinesUnderground work as needed and directed and as trainedFlagger Certified for field work as neededAbility to troubleshoot RF and Fiber line and or equipment issuesLead teams in the field effectively and efficiently as needed and directed by supervisorVehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certifiedCertified on the use of equipment:Line truckBucket truckCable reel equipmentSaws and drillsBenefits:Competitive WagesOvertime PotentialGrowth OpportunityMedical/Prescription/Vision/Dental Insurance401(k)/Stock Options/Discount [NYSE:MTZ]Holidays & Paid Time Off (PTO)Life Insurance/AD&DSalary: $20.00-25.00 Hr DOEQualifications
