Position Summary
The Controller serves as a strategic business partner to the operating company President. Beyond traditional financial management, this position actively contributes to the company’s strategic success. The Controller collaborates closely with the President, aligning financial strategies with overall business objectives, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of financial excellence.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Oversee financial management, reporting, and analysis to provide accurate insights for decision-making.
Lead initiatives to optimize and streamline accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Advise the management team regarding key economic objectives, operational adjustments, and policy changes to improve the performance of the Company.
Monitor and adjust reserves for inventory obsolescence and shrinkage, dealer and sales commissions, bonuses, bad debt, and other accounts as needed.
Review pricing and analyze gross margin generation for parts and whole goods.
Drive the development of comprehensive budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to support strategic planning.
Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective controls to safeguard company assets.
Ensure inventory integrity and cycle count performance. Safeguard the Company’s assets.
Interface with Alamo Group, Inc. Division Controller, Corporate accounting staff, and other corporate departments as necessary (i.e., Tax, Information Technology, Payroll, Legal, Executive staff)
Financial liaison with Internal and External auditors.
Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required. C.P.A.: CMA preferred.
5-10 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required.
5+ years preparing financials in a multisite organization with multiple operating statements preferred.
5+ years supervisory experience required.
Experience with JDE or a similar ERP system preferred.
