Our team and Opportunity The Financial Adviser Services (FAS) Technology, APAC team is responsible for b uild ing a digital and enhancing a technology ecosystem to help advisers scale and service their clients directly with Vanguard , as well as to support our Sales and Operations Teams.

As an FAS Technical Lead , you will partner with stakeholders to lead design and development of new digital technology solutions interacted through web and API. This role is key in the expansion of Adviser+ , a platform which equip s Advisers with a simple way to run their business directly with Vanguard and provide a low-cost access point for our products.

What you will do

Partner with architects to design and implement high-performan t, scalable and secure web applications

Evaluate appropriate existing and emerging technologies to introduce to Vanguard

Mentor the team on best practices

Provide leadership and guidance to help shape and continuous ly improve our development processes

Effectively communicate technical issues , in a manner all can understand

Work with Scrum Leads and Product Owners to prioritise work relative to both delivering business value and technical value

Instil the team with a technical vision and road map

Research and employ contemporary software development techniques to ensure quality and improve velocity of the team

Support the complete software life cycle including DevOps and CI/CD

Have an owner’s mindset to our full technology stack, which underpins our business solutions

Maintain a high standard of technical design, cod e quality and documentation

Contribute to , develop and maintain an inclusive and highly collaborative team environment

Core technical skills

Solid and demonstratable experience with AWS

Solid and demonstrable front-end experience with Angular (Angular 1 5+), Node.js

Experience with developing design systems and component libraries (HTML/CSS, Styled components, Stencil.js, Storybook)

Experience with state management using Redux or NgRx

Experience with back-end integration using Nest.js and/or Express

Experience with back-end development in Java, Spring Boot as well as designing building REST API's, micro-services and event driven architecture

Experience with monorepo tools for multiple project/websites development using NX.dev

Experience with test automation and test-driven development practices and frameworks – mutation testing, functional testing (Cypress , Playwright and Jest), mock frameworks (Mockito, etc.), contract testing

Familiarity with DevOps concepts, tools and continuous delivery pipelines – Bamboo, Github, Bitbucket, Jira, GIT

Knowledge of cloud development/engineering best practices

Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering concepts

Content Management Systems (AEM)

Analytics Tag Management (Adobe)

SEO principles

Proficiency and passionate about modern UX/UI principles and be able to effectively communicate this in all designs and development

Experience with Data Analytics and Data Engineering (nice to have!)

Experience in Funds Management and/or Financial Adviser platforms
