　　*Position summary: Specialist, Technical development

　　In order to secure technology leadership and cost competitiveness of product

　　Optimization and improvement of the production process

　　Development and implementation of a novel technology

　　Acquisition and security of the intellectual properties

　　*Main Tasks:

　　Experiment planning, analysis and improvement

　　Collect and identify a new idea for the process optimization

　　Plan and arrange the lab experiments including new strain test, raw material test, process optimization and others

　　Check, analyze and review all the experiment results

　　Report the results to supervisor and recommend an improvement way

　　Pilot fermenter operation

　　Prepare the media for pilot fermentation and flask test

　　Calibrate and operate pilot fermenter instruments

　　Analyze and monitor the fermentation experiment

　　Be responsible for pilot fermenter maintenance

　　Technology support

　　Acquisition of new technical information

　　Coordinate with external laboratories and associations

　　Patent application and paper publication

　　Equipment and chemicals management

　　Be responsible for rectifying, set-up and maintenance of all equipment and chemicals in the lab

　　Control inventory of the spare parts and materials

　　Safety and lab management

　　Be responsible for maintaining lab environment including the safety and housekeeping

　　Update and revise the work procedure manuals to meet ISO and EHS requirement

　　Budget

　　According to the equipment performance condition and the experimental requirement, propose recommendation on maintenance and purchasing to facilitate the setting of budget*Education/Qualifications required:

　　Bachelor’s degree or above

　　Major in Biotechnology related

　　Fluent in English both spoken and written

　　Advanced computing skills (e.g. Office software)

　　Good communication skills and team working

　　Preference given to those with 3 or more years of experience in the bio industry
