Summary
The Team Member Relations (TMR) Specialist II is key member of the People & Culture team whose primary responsibility is effectively leading the investigatory process for sensitive and complex team member matters including those that come through the OpenTalk (whistleblower) hotline. This individual partners with the field operations leadership, legal department and senior People & Culture leadership to effectively investigate, document, and recommend decisions in the resolution of team member relations issues. They provide input and guidance to internal customers regarding interpretation of more complex federal, state and local laws and TA policies and procedures.
The TMR Specialist ensures completion of thorough and timely investigation documentation, correspondence generation, record keeping, and file maintenance for sensitive Team Member investigations. They ensure that all team member relation actions are administered in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and TA policy. They provide guidance and support to TMR Specialist I when needed and identify/facilitate process improvements for employment related matters that surface during investigations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Regularly assigned employment-related matters that require investigation. Manages the investigatory process, from assignment to completion. Provides thoughtful recommendations based on outcome of investigation. Provides support and contact for the management team and team members alike throughout the investigatory process.
Responsible for investigating OpenTalk hotline concerns within their assigned region, which includes appropriate communication with the caller and other participants in the investigation. Prepares investigation summaries.
Lead contact for the Legal department on assigned investigations and responsible for completing executive narratives
May advise TMR Specialist I on entry and mid-level employment questions and concerns.
Updates investigation tracker and provides metrics to TMR and field leadership
Oversees Team Member Relations Tracker system and assists as needed
Ensures field compliance with all P&C policies and procedures
Collaborates with TMR Specialist I on their intake processes, strategies, and workflow
Key thought partner to TMR leadership for the enhancement of TMR processes and customer service
Assists the investigation and resolution of federal and state agency inquiries and audits including EEOC and Department of Labor
Assists Senior TMR Specialist to investigate and respond to formal grievances filed by current or former team members and assists in representing the company in Arbitration proceedings
Provides assistance and training to management or team members regarding compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Identifies training opportunities and supports training as appropriate
Creates and maintains TMR Department SOPs
Utilizes MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point software to create letters, memos, labels and reports for various projects
Attends classes/seminars to keep current with legislation and best practices in HR
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources or related field preferred
5+ years Human Resource experience in position(s) that were responsible for investigations
Strong verbal/written communication abilities, interpersonal skills and a strong attention to detail
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, required
Critical thinking skills to interpret information and accurately
Ability to manage multiple complex assignments
Detail oriented with problem solving skills
Able to successfully manage multiple concurrent tasks to meet deliverables as well as routinely prioritize among major initiatives and operational tasks
Pro-active, and able to work using own initiative and without close supervision
Able to work collaboratively across departments and businesses results oriented with concern for quality
Must be able to maintain confidential employee records
Demonstrated ability to work in high-volume and fast paced environment
