And if that's you we would love to have you join us!Job DescriptionThe primary function of the Supplier Development Team Lead is to manage the Supplier Development Engineering team, including workload distribution, while also managing personal Supplier Development projects. The selected candidate will establish team goals and priorities, and ensure commitments are met. They will establish a partnership with Strategic Sourcing key stakeholders, ensure RASCII alignment, set strategy, standard processes, and do performance evaluations and feedback for the supplier development team. This role will have direct reports outside of the U.S. (Mexico, Asia, Europe).Main Responsibilities:Identify, coordinate, and lead to completion development projects at Rockwell's critical and strategic suppliers. This is broken down into two areas: 1) Developing and Onboarding new suppliers to Rockwell's requirements and capability expectations, and 2) Improving existing suppliers in areas of quality, cost, timeliness, and technology. A Senior SDE will have the proven capability to take on more complex projects, a greater number of projects at a given time, and have a broader reach across commodities, types of development projects, and across geographies.The ability to adequately manage a cross-functional team of Rockwell employees and supplier personnel is critical. An effective SDE will be one that can successfully outline, maintain focus, and sustain the results.A function of developing suppliers involves training to Rockwell expectations and requirements. These trainings may be performed in interpersonal settings, on-site lecture-style, or virtually. An effective SDE must communicate clearly, present well, and be comfortable in public speaking settings.Lead a broad range of development projects at suppliers in commodities of all kinds, SDEs are expected to have a high level of understanding of manufacturing environments, process flows, engineering and technical documentation. A Sr. SDE will be considered a Rockwell subject matter expert in an area of manufacturing or lean six sigma.The projects and trainings deployed by an SDE may impact or directly involve a supplier's quality management system. SDEs must be familiar with high-level QMS requirements from Rockwell, governmental and regulatory agencies, and customers.SDEs will generally rely on SQEs to perform surveillance audits of critical suppliers and inform SDEs of development work needed. However, SDEs may act as consultants on supplier audits, and may also perform targeted audits for specific processes if necessary.Continuously communicate and align with suppliers on development projects, supplier buy-in is crucial. - Monitor and evaluate supplier performance during a development project. - Drive and encourage communication and partnership between suppliers and engineering, if necessary for the project. - Drive continuous improvement projects with suppliers. - Continuously liaise and align with Sourcing and Product Quality throughout the supplier development lifecycle.Close collaboration and an aligned vision are pillars for success. SDEs are expected to consult and inform SQEs and Strategic Sourcin
