STARS Architect/Consultant ODT wishes to enhance an existing application that facilitates the Administration of Business Taxes (generally known as STARS.) The host system is Oracle based (implemented with PSRM) using a front-end system hosted by the Ohio Business Gateway (Gateway) commonly referred to as WebUI. For this role ODT is looking for resources that have superior JAVA development skills. The resources must also have relevant solution development experience to include development and support of Web Services. The same candidate must be able to architect, design, and develop solutions (front end, back end, as well as batch.) The ideal candidate will have experience working with ODT's STARS related products (i.e. PSRM, PeopleSoft, DataStage, WebSphere ESB) Uniquely qualified candidates will have actually participated in the Ohio STARS project. Other tasks/deliverables may include any/all of the following: • Potentially, provide Production Support for various eCommerce applications as needed. • Potentially, various projects involving infrastructure upgrades (aka technical debt.) The particular scope of work for this consultant would involve changes to applications in response to the app requirements as they are flushed out in the tech debt discovery process. • Migration of other eCommerce applications to upgrade platform (e.g. WAS 9, RAD 9, JAVA 1.8). Also, potentially, enhance eCommerce applications as needed, and/or migrate the backend to a platform other than Mainframe DB2. Work in this arena is related to projects known as WAS Upgrade, Mainframe Replacement, and other technical debt projects as they are initiated. Requirements: • 10 years of experience with IDE: RAD 7.5 and above or Eclipse • 10 years of Java: JEE 5 and above, Java EE Batch Architecture, Spring Framework, Java EE Design Patterns • 10 years of Spring Framework: MVC model and Batch architecture • 10 years of Messaging: Asynchronous Messaging, JMS/MQ • 10 years of Web Framework: JSF 2.0 Framework • 10 years of Persistence: JPA/Java Persistence API 2.0, EJB 3.0 • 10 years of Web Services: JAX-WS Web Services, XML, JAXB • 10 years of Other: XPath, UML, Object Modeling, Batch Scheduler, Performance tuning of Web Services/SQL and Application code. • 10 years of experience clarifying systems and programs intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine any system changes • Extensive experience with Agile/Scrum based development approaches.
