We are seeking remote Tax Preparers for a short-term contract opportunity to assist a leading wealth management firm. This is a remote position opening up just in time for tax season and offers you the opportunity to use your comprehensive tax knowledge to serve a diverse portfolio of clients, most of whom are in the healthcare industry. This is a remote position but requires the candidate to work around Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours. This short-term engagement is specifically for the upcoming tax season. The role requires proficiency in tax preparation, estate trust tax returns, and the use of Intuit ProSeries Tax Software. Responsibilities:
As a remote Tax Preparer, your main task will involve the preparation of individual and business tax returns, including types 1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041.
You will collaborate with Tax Preparers to ensure all tax preparations are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
This could also include some cleanup of bookkeeping records to complete business tax returns.
Taking the role of a remote Tax Preparer also involves direct communication with clients across the country, gathering tax organizers, and acquiring any missing data to complete tax preparations - primarily via telephone.
You must be comfortable communicating with the IRS and other tax authorities acting as an advocate on behalf of our company or our clients.
Operate independently, demonstrating the ability to manage tasks without constant supervision
Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations to provide accurate information to customers.
Requirements
The ideal tax preparer will have:
A minimum of 10 years of tax preparation experience.
Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Accounting or finance preferred
Familiarity and practical understanding of IPO Intuit tax software.
Experience dealing with multiple entities
Previous experience with nonprofits is essential due to the complexities of their tax filings.
A minimum level of Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
Must have knowledge in assisting clients with LLC's and Trusts, managing multiple properties.
Must be detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Strong knowledge of tax codes, compliance and procedures
Good mathematical and computational abilities
Must possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Availability to work around Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours
