Robert Half is currently partnering with a growing accounting services and CPA firm seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager (dependent on experience) located on the CT shoreline!
Hybrid opportunity with an office based in Old Lyme, CT.
Our client provides a full range of accounting, bookkeeping, consulting, outsourcing, payroll and business services so this will be an opportunity to get involved with tasks outside of tax as well!
Main responsibilities (but not limited to):
Tax Advisory:
Provide expert tax advice to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiency improvements.
Conducted comprehensive tax planning sessions, ensuring clients were well-informed about their tax implications.
Advise clients on tax strategies to optimize financial outcomes and minimize liabilities.
Tax Preparation:
Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax regulations.
Managed multiple tax preparation projects simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines.
Implement efficient workflows to streamline the tax preparation process, reducing errors and enhancing productivity.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and personalized service.
Address client inquiries regarding tax matters promptly and professionally.
Collaborate closely with clients to gather necessary financial information for accurate tax filings.
Tax Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring clients remained in compliance.
Conduct thorough reviews of client financial records to identify potential compliance issues and implemented corrective actions.
Audit Support:
Assisted clients during tax audits, liaising with tax authorities and providing necessary documentation.
Implemented proactive measures to reduce the risk of audit findings and ensure preparedness.
Requirements:
Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting or relevant field required
5-7 years' experience in tax accounting
CPA or CPA in progress is preferred.
