Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Tax Teams develop and implement systems to compile information for various federal, state, and local reports. They ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns. They assess tax implications surrounding pending mergers and acquisitions. The Tax Teams recommend ways to minimize corporate tax through use of tax laws and regulations. They may administer international tax laws and regulations and also audit financial records to determine tax liability.
• Develops a working knowledge of business operations and acts as a subject matter expert and guide to tax specialists to respond to complex tax inquiries.
• Ensure all returns and tasks are completed timely while assisting the team with issue resolution and prioritization of assignments. Prepare and submit complex tax returns and any other relevant documents to local tax authorities as well as review work prepared by analysts.
• Search for efficiencies in the reporting area and support the department in the digitization journey. Ensure technology learning and daily use by Analysts.
• Maintain knowledge of indirect tax laws and ensure compliance with rules and regulations. Analyze and communicate the impact for TE businesses.
• Tax engine software configuration and maintenance support.
• Identify indirect tax risk and develop recommendations for mitigation.
• Share and transfer knowledge and skills to the team and work on their professional development.
• Support queries from tax authorities and the Audit team. Communicate audit findings and corrective actions needed to appropriate stakeholders. Oversee and guide sales tax disputes.
• Ensure internal controls and maintain the indirect tax control framework.
• Drives process improvements, enabling streamlining to achieve operational efficiencies, benchmarking, and development of performance metrics.
What your background should look like:
• Bachelors in Finance or Accounting with a minimum 5 years of experience in the indirect tax area in a multinational or Big4 firm
• Knowledge of Vertex O Series required.
• Experience with refund reviews/analysis, nexus analysis, direct pay permit review, optimization, exposure analysis, remediation, and audit defense is required.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Digital literacy and experience with applications such as Microsoft Excel, SAP, Power BI, and Alteryx.
• PPT knowledge a plus
• Masters, CPA, or IPT CMI certification a plus
• Proven understanding of sophisticated tax concepts with the ability to complete legal research, apply interpretations to relevant fact patterns, and communicate recommendations clearly and concisely.
• Project management or Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with indirect tax setup in systems, including ERP systems and indirect tax code determination software.

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $82,800-124,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
