Job Description:
Design and build custom wooden crates in order to safely transport large conveyor systems across the world.
Coordinate with shipping personnel, production and purchasing at a minimum.
Be an active member of the production cell and will participate and support inventory and equipment management as related to the cell's operations requirements.
Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements of the job function and participate in daily team stand-up meetings, communicating daily challenges and/or ideas.
Assignments may be complex and non-repetitive, and some personal judgment may be needed.
The candidate must maintain a safe working environment, following established 5S procedures, and maintain inventory accuracy based on site goals.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Ability to safely and effectively use equipment such as- miter saws, panel saws, pneumatic nail guns, staple guns, drills,
Ability to work under limited supervision and complete assignments with limited instruction.
High School diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience in woodworking or construction
High visual acuity and manual dexterity are required, and the candidate must have the ability to conduct equipment set up and qualification on simple machinery as well as experience doing in-process visual inspection.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and sit or stand at a workbench for extended periods of time.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and turn as required. Good manual dexterity is required, and the candidate must use hands for extended periods of time while constructing crates (e.g. grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation).
