We’re hiring System Administrator II, who will perform complex and specialized systems administration support functions, such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, de-bugging, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving, client relations, requirement assessment and analysis, project management methodology, context and interrelationships, and the Information Technology Interface Library (ITIL).
Salary Range: Salary will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience.
Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted asylum or refugee status in accordance with 15 CFR, Part 762; 22 CFR §§122.5, 123.22 and 123.26; and 31 CFR § 501.601
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python, PowerShell, Server/Industrial PC hardware, database systems (especially MSSQL), and network configuration.Responsibilities:
Systems Administration: Responsible for the day-to-day administration and support of established, large and multiple client servers/systems. Installs, upgrades, and configures server hardware and software. Assists with the design and implementation of server systems. Assists with the installation and configuration of network file servers and hardware. Completes server testing and application. Conducts basic server performance analyses and tuning. Creates programs for automating system administration. Helps analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems. Troubleshoots and repairs hardware and software for servers. Troubleshoots and repairs configuration problems and assists with troubleshooting network problems. Provides Tier II direction and assists with Tier III support, including assisting with routine audits of systems and software. Evaluates and follows through on issues and problems until resolved or escalated. Monitors and maintains system security and provides backup, protection, and recovery support for client data.
Technical Collaboration: Assists with new technology deployments and system integration testing. Assists with the evaluation of new technologies to determine their applicability to clients’ needs. Assists project leaders with developing work plans and time schedules for projects requiring coordination between multiple units within the department or IT Operations team.
Documentation: Documents server support methods, procedures, and configuration. Assists with recommendations, specifications, and plans for server hardware and software purchases.
Professional Development: Participates in training and professional development sessions. Performs other duties as assigned.
