MISSION STATEMENT:
Jacobs is seeking a System Administrator/DRSN Database Administrator (DBA) to support Crews and the NISSC II contract. Your career at Jacobs enables NISSC to fulfill its mission to “provide classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers.” As a member of our team, you will support corporate and customer missions to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.
JOB SUMMARY:
*Shift work could be required to support 24×7 operations. It is important to be available to work any shift/designated hours required including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule, and can remain on-site for extended periods during emergencies and drills.
This position reports to Peterson Space Force Base.*
The System Administrator/DRSN DBA/Support Technician at PSFB provides database administration support for all DRSN systems and will be tasked with Secure Voice Responsible (SVRO) and Telephone Control Officer (TCO) duties. Generates accounts and controls access, performs update/change management, performs administration of databases for the environment through installation, replacement, and/or configuration for testing, and properly documents incidents. Develops and implements system documentation and operating procedures. Identifies and corrects processing anomalies. Coordinates and administers the test and installation of network connections. Configures and debugs network equipment. Researches the selection and installation of new computer equipment, including hardware and software. Performs and provides server, workstation, and system expertise including on-site and off-site travel. Oversees the order and replacement of new hardware and software, including warranty claims. Implements functions with data and documentation management of systems.
Typical Duties Include:
Provide support to monitor, install, and perform maintenance on DRSN, software, networks, and equipment.
Respond to DRSN system user requests for assistance.
Perform on-the-spot diagnostic evaluations, implementation of corrections, and training users in proper operations of DRSN systems/programs.
Provide support for approved DRSN software, perform upgrades to all computer platforms, train staff, and maintain daily logs.
Support 24/7 maintenance, modification, and installation of the secure Defense Red Switch Network, cryptographic equipment (i.e., KIV-7M), and instruments (IST, STE, and STU-III).
Provide DRSN initial and recurring training for all users.
Update the equipment database to help ensure inventory is accurate.
Ensure the REMEDY ticketing system is kept up to date on DRSN trouble tickets for problem/resolution to exceed customer repair requirements.
Route calls, transfer information, and handle administrative duties.
Various tasks such as typing, checking, and recording information.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Clearance Requirement – TS w/SCI eligibility.
Experience as a System Administrator and Database Administrator.
Experience with Telephone maintenance.
DSS-2A Certification.
DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
2 years of directly related experience.
5 years of work history.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
SVRO and TCO experience.
Experience with Cryptographic/COMSEC and COMSEC Responsible Officer requirements.
Operations planning and management in a real-time support environment.
Ability to prepare, objectively review, and deliver technical presentations.
Experience with technical knowledge capturing, training, and certification of personnel.
Have demonstrated experience and capability with interfacing with customers at very high levels.
3 years of related experience with modification, and installation of the secure DRSN Network, cryptographic equipment (i.e., KIV-7M), and instruments (IST, STE, and STU-III).
Commercial PBX and telephone switch experience.
Experience assisting with secure conferencing support.
Essential Functions
Work Environment
Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle or a lab environment (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
Commuting between locations may be required daily (10-minute drive).
Work assignments vary based on client requirements.
Work may include travel with the military to participate in exercises in austere conditions.
Physical Requirements
Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
Commuting between locations may be required daily (30 minute drive).
Work assignments vary based on client requirements.
Work may include travel with the military to participate in exercises in austere conditions.
Equipment and Machines
General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
May require operating motor vehicles for commuting between locations.
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.
You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work.

Other Essential Functions
Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.

The position for which you are applying for requires a US government security clearance. This is to advise you, that should you be extended an offer, if you possess a dual citizenship (i.e., citizen of the US and another country), to be granted a clearance you will be required to relinquish your citizenship in the foreign country.
This position is expected to pay $85,00 - $105,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
