Job Description
This job is fully remote.
The IP Paralegal for the Life Sciences Platform is responsible providing support to IP Counsels within the Life Sciences Group. This position is part of the IP Operations Team.
You will be a part of the Life Sciences IP Operations group and report to the IP Manager and be responsible for all aspects of IP support, from the filing of patent applications in multiple jurisdictions, diary management, and the integration of or divestiture of acquired assets from M&A activity, inventor renumeration to completing formality-based actions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide end to end support to IP Counsel(s), supporting formalities-based activities across the group for all IP topics, including patents, designs, trademarks, and copyrights.
Prepare, file and format patent/design, trademarks, and copyright documents for submission to the UK/SE/EP/PCT & USPTO as required, completing all associated docketing requirements within Danaher’s IP management tool.
Instruct foreign outside counsel as appropriate at the foreign/national stage filing completing docketing activities.
Monitor Life Sciences Platform central IP mailbox, docketing as appropriate and communicating with IP counsel.
Manage the docket(s) of IP counsel as assigned, maintaining due dates, meeting weekly to review.
Using EP/USPTO filing tools prepare documents to accompany official responses.
Support IP Counsel, preparing reports from Danaher's IP management tool and capturing accurate outcomes from committee reviews within the tool
Support integration of and/or divestiture of IP assets resulting from M&A activity.
Audit and update docketing system for data integrity.
Responsible for the management of inventor bonus.
Execute standardized workflows for IP prep and pros system.
Monitor deadlines, ensuring timely completion and escalate as required.
The essential requirements of the job include:
4+ years’ experience handling patent preparation and prosecution.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Paralegal certification preferred.
Detailed knowledge of US patent law prosecution practices.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Use of IP docketing tools including IP Folio and Foundation IP.
Detailed knowledge of EP and foreign patent law prosecution practices.

The salary range for this role is 65K-80k annually. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
