About Sustainability & Live Experiences Intern, Content Operations & Innovation (Summer 2024)

  Who are we?

Netflix is one of the world’s leading entertainment services with over 260 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

It’s no secret that we want to entertain the world. In order to do that we first must hire and develop the best people, starting with university students.

If you have a passion for solving challenging problems and are excited at the prospect of having a significant impact on productions that over 260 million viewers tune into, then we want to talk to you.

The Content Operations & Innovation organization at Netflix supports content to thrill members with efficient operational workflows and execution while leveraging our scale and innovating to deliver more value on screen. Within this organization, the Netflix Sustainability team tackles our carbon footprint at the speed prescribed by climate science, supports creators who choose to incorporate sustainability into their storytelling, and spotlights these stories for our members. See more at Sustainability.Netflix.com and the Sustainability Stories Collection (http://www.netflix.com/SustainabilityStories) .

Netflix Sustainability supports multiple consumer-facing teams across Netflix with sustainability subject matter expertise. Among them is the Live Experiences team, a growing team at the company.

In only a few short years, Netflix’s Live Experiences team has launched multiple live experiences and events around the world, reaching millions of fans through live shows (Stranger Things (https://uk.strangerthingsonstage.com/) , The Queen’s Ball (https://bridgertonexperience.com/) , etc.), immersive theater (Stranger Things: The Experience (https://strangerthings-experience.com/) , Squid Game The Trials (https://squidgamethetrials.com/) ), restaurants (Netflix Bites (https://www.netflix.shop/pages/bites-home) ), and more.

We are looking to hire an intern during Summer 2024 who will support activities and initiatives at the intersection of Sustainability and Live Experiences.

As an intern, you’ll assist in facilitating departmental needs and will participate in a program that provides training and development intended to give you the skill set necessary to become a strong candidate for future entry-level positions in Sustainability and/or Live Experiences.

You do not need prior experience to apply; once you submit your application, you’ll receive an email inviting you to complete your application by filling out an Airtable form. You’ll also be asked to submit a 300-word-maximum statement of intent (preferably in PDF format) within the form using the following prompt: Think of your favorite TV show. Now, imagine you could create an experience for fans to immerse themselves into that show’s storyline and world. Describe the event/experience you would organize and 3 key sustainability initiatives you would implement to manage its environmental impact.

This posting will be open for a very limited time and will be closed for new applications by February 9, so if you’re interested, please submit your application as soon as possible.
