RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible to the Director of Nursing and under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
• Provides direct and indirect nursing care to the patients assigned to him/her during a given period of time.
• Documents actions and findings in the electronic health record.
• Participates in implementing the plan of care as directed by the RN.
• Notifies assigned RN of changes in patient trends and /or condition, including patient's emotional and physical needs.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential functions- Seeing, hearing, speaking, standing, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, finger dexterity, lifting weight up to 75 pounds, pushing/pulling weight up to 150 pounds, reaching above, at, and below shoulder level.
Continuous: Seeing, hearing, speaking, standing, walking, stooping/bending, twisting body, finger dexterity, reaching at and below shoulder level.
Operates Hoyer lift, beds, wheelchairs, gurneys, computer, and other office equipment.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Both inside and outside environmental conditions; hazardous physical conditions; and atmospheric conditions which affect the respiratory system or skin.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education/Certification and Licensure:
High School graduate or the equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited School for Nurse Aide training or nursing student having completed a semester of clinical fundamentals.
BLS/HCP level certification required.
B. Experience:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English effectively.
One (1) year experience as a Nurse Aide preferred.
Ability to relate effectively to patients of all ages, their families, and staff.
Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality required.
