　　The surgical technologist is an unlicensed individual who performs routine and delegated duties according to the standards of practice of hospital and unit policies. They function under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They assist with delegated patient care according to their level of education, training, and demonstrated competency. They serve primarily as a scrub person, assist the Registered Nurse in circulating duites, and perform activities related tosterile processing, material management, and environmental controls.

　　Position Requirements

　　High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Graduated from an Accredited School of Surgical Technology. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS).

　　Preferred Requirements

　　One year of surgical technician experience preferred.
