　　Job- Surgical Tech First Assist or Certified Surgical Tech

　　Hours- 80 (full time)

　　Schedule- VST 5:00 to 6:48

　　Position Summary:

　　Responsible for providing surgical assistance in the exposure, hemostasis, cannulation, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for patients. The Surgical Assistant will perform preoperative, operative, and postoperative duties under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and accordance with hospital policy and appropriate laws and regulations. Provides surgical assistance in the operating room under the direction of a registered nurse or other designated operating room supervisor. Assists with departmental support activities following hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.

　　Required:

　　High school diploma or equivalent

　　Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience.

　　Completion of a surgical assistants program accredited through the Association of Surgical Assistants (ASA).

　　American Health Association BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).

　　Certified Surgical Technologist or Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant (CTSFA) by the National Board of Surgical Technology or Surgical Tech First Assisting (NBSTSA)or Completion of a surgical assistants program accredited through the Association of Surgical Assistants (ASA).

　　Preferred:

　　One year of Surgical Technologist experience.
