Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech. Under the direct and immediate supervision of a surgeon, provides aid in exposure, hemostasis and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Positions the patient with the surgeon’s instruction, which will give the best exposure for the surgical procedure

　　Uses standard and specialized equipment to aid in patient positioning

　　Provides the surgeon with appropriate visualization of the operative site using retractors, sponges, dial manipulation, and other techniques according to standards

　　Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist the surgeon with temporary or permanent hemostasis

　　Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with closure of body planes

　　Selects and applies appropriate wound dressings

　　Assist with patient transport to and from OR

　　Minimum Requirements:

　　High School Diploma or equivalent

　　Graduation from accredited surgical assistant program with subsequent certification

　　Current CPR card

　　Current PPD or Chest X-Ray

　　Current Health Certificate (if Applicable)

　　One year experience as a First Assist within the last two years preferred
