  Summary This position is located in Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Pacific Area/District 14, Air Station Barbers Point, Kapolei, HI Responsibilities You will serve as Supply Technician and responsible to provide clerical and technical support work for Air Station Barbers Point. Being a Coast Guard (CG) civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include: Performing a wide range of supply system operations, such as performing records functions in requisition, inventory, storage, cataloging, receipt, and control processes. Overseeing stock maintenance, conducting physical inventories, receiving, and screening documents/lists for receipt verification. Operating computer terminals or information systems for record-keeping, data input and corrections. Preparing and shipping repairable materiel to a repair facility. Preparing and recording all documents/data input into automated information resource management systems, such as the Asset Maintenance Management Information System (AMMIS) Conducting regular inventories of materiel stocked and taking investigative and corrective measures when inventory discrepancies are discovered. Providing information and tracking of departmental procurement requests for materiel. Monitoring status of procurement requests, executing corrective actions on troubled status and informs customer. **The work requires some physical exertion such as lifting, prolonged standing, walking, bending at the waist, crouching, stooping, reaching, and lifting above head. Occasional moderate lifting of items in excess of 40 pounds or more can be expected. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship is required. This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Incumbent must be able to type 40 word per minute (wpm). All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. This includes Time-In-Grade requirements for current status employees applying through merit promotion procedures. Status applicants applying for a promotion must have 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS FOR GS-06 GRADE LEVEL; Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level (in the federal sector). AT THE GS-07 GRADE LEVEL, Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level (in the federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience includes: Providing information relative to the inventory, storage, cataloging, receipt, and controlling processes; helping establish the AMO inventories, storage, and general parts organization for the newly commissioned air station; initiating, preparing, editing and processing requisitions to stock; searching catalogs, records, etc. to obtain or correct stock numbers or to find substitute stock items. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office. Education This position does not have a positive education requirement.
