Description:
Contract manufacturers and manage activities throughout product development process across engineering, strategic sourcing, supplier management and cost reduction initiatives.
Help drive projects to improve Delivery, Quality and Cost performance within Engineering and Supply Chain
Manage supply chain planning for New Product Introduction (NPI) of mechanical and electronic aircraft components with focus on engineering design evaluation, demand forecasting, cost modeling, prototyping, and production ramp up.
Evaluate engineering drawings to classify products based on the manufacturing complexity (Material, GD&T, and Special Operations) and to match them with the capabilities of Contract Manufacturers for strategic sourcing.
Drive supplier selection- Responsible for supplier identification, evaluation, and acceptance based on manufacturing capabilities
Analyze customer sales data, purchasing data using Excel, and generate insights to support data driven decision making for forecasting, inventory management, new product development.
Manage the flow of materials per project requirements including analysis of supplier capacity and capability to ensure their ability to supply parts to meet engineering design requirements
Plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
Reduce the percentage for rejection and the financial impact of customer returns by management of suppliers to address supplier and customer issues.
Strive and initiate Continuous Improvement projects by eliminating the non-Value added activities.
Work with Engineering Manager and Quality Manager to identify and mitigate long-term supply chain risks
Evaluate performance of suppliers through Quality and Delivery metrics and create value-based Supply Chain Network through metrics-driven continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain/Business Administration
5+ years of supply chain, strategic sourcing, negotiations in manufacturing experience
Able to read drawings and understand the manufacturing processes
Sourcing experience in Aerospace
Pluses-
APICS CSCP certification
Sourcing experience in Aerospace or related field required.
Holds a network of suppliers
Data analysis- MS Excel skills required. Tableau/PowerBI experience
Machining, metals, CNC, plastic injection experience
If no degree- 7+ years experience in Aerospace
