A Pitney Bowes Internship prepares students for the rigors of the working world while providing a professional and engaging learning experience. Our internships offer meaningful work with the potential to directly impact our business (learn while doing). In addition to challenging work, interns grow their professional networks. From Day 1, they have the opportunity to network with fellow interns from schools across the country as well as PB employees at all levels of the organization.

PROJECTS: Interns are spread throughout our businesses. Each intern manager will provide intentional learning objective goals and assign real-life projects to own and drive during the summer

SUPPORT: Each intern will be paired up with a mentor who will provide guidance, support, and insight into The PB Way!

PAY: The wage range for this position is $24 to $29 per hour, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements.

JOB OFFERS: The intern program may only last 10-weeks, June 9th - August 18th, but we don’t want the experience to end there. Our top interns are often offered extended internships or future job opportunities at Pitney Bowes

About the Opportunity:

The Parts Team within our Technical Services Department is focused on optimizing supply chain operations to support the maintenance, installation, and relocation of high-speed mail sorting and conveyor systems. This team plays a critical role in ensuring equipment uptime by managing parts procurement, supplier negotiations, and inventory optimization to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency. We are seeking an intern to assist with procurement analysis, supplier negotiations, and inventory optimization to drive cost savings and improve equipment uptime. This intern will work with real-world purchasing data, explore new sourcing opportunities, and collaborate with multiple teams to enhance supply chain efficiency. We are looking for a detail-oriented, forward-thinking individual who can bring fresh ideas to help streamline our processes and create long-term value for the business.

Evaluate order history to identify high-cost purchases and assess potential bulk discount opportunities.

Work with vendors to negotiate improved pricing structures.

Identify opportunities to source from alternative suppliers for better pricing.

Explore refurbished and rebuilt options for cost-effective procurement.

Identify frequently purchased items that should be procured in bulk for discounts.

Assess low-volume parts that may benefit from larger order quantities to unlock better pricing.

Analyze facility-specific purchases to determine if centralized purchasing through the parts team would reduce costs.

Recommend a standardized approach for purchasing high-use parts.

Track cost savings and procurement efficiencies achieved during the internship.

Provide a final report with recommendations for future procurement strategies.

Our Team:

Pitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS®. For completing this work, Presort Services receives discounted postage rates. By performing this sorting work on behalf of our clients, we are able to share a portion of that discount with them. Our national network of operating centers processes over 17 billion pieces of mail annually. We provide mailers with end-to-end solutions from pick-up at their location into delivery into the postal system network, providing optimal postage savings.

About You

Our selection process is therefore focused on the highest quality candidates that demonstrate a rigorous academic curriculum as well as having established themselves with authentic projects pursued in and outside the classroom. As a Supply Chain intern, you have the following skills:

Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.

Basic understanding of procurement strategies and vendor negotiations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement software tools.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Educational Background

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.Location:

This is anticipated to be a remote opportunity, although some on-site work is possible if a candidate is in proximity to one of our 30+ Operating Centers.
