　　Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). 　　Responsibilities

　　MSTS is actively seeking a Construction Superintendent with experience supervising civil construction projects.This experience must include knowledge of subterranean construction facilities, excavation techniques, and construction management. Additionally, individuals with experience in subterranean construction, tunnel design, ventilation systems, and safety protocols would be a valuable asset to MSTS. As a Superintendent, you will be expected to model company values and to supervise bargaining employee resources effectively and efficiently. Superintendents are responsible for scheduling, coordinating and supervising craft employee activities, and training. This may involve supervising one or more trade groups and/or subcontractors on the project sites. An ability to clearly communicate both oral and written with craft, managers, customers, and vendors is a key responsibility for this position. You will work closely with your Project Managers regarding all project activities. Apply project management practices, including Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) guidelines, in the development of baseline schedules and estimates. At MSTS, Superintendents are encouraged to keep all lines of communication open with the bargaining employees, General Superintendent, Project Managers, and Construction Managers.

　　Key Responsibilities

　　Directly supervise individual contributors, including approving time, conducting performance evaluations, and participating in the recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of staff.

　　Implement and follow company policies, procedures and directives.

　　Establish activity level work assignments and, or work projects.

　　Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

　　Provide support in the preparation and schedule alignment of budgetary estimates, including validation of the estimates for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with corporate procedure.

　　Organize and supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring that schedules are kept.

　　Work closely with the General foreman to track and approve bargaining personnel work hours weekly ensuring time is charged accurately.

　　Establish and maintain a solid working relationship with hiring hall representatives for the bargaining personnel that you supervise.

　　Working knowledge of union hall practices.

　　Monitor performance against metrics and goals as established/approved by others.

　　Coordinate project-related activities with General Foreman and Foreman.

　　Ensure that required equipment is on the project when needed.

　　Review cost sheets and keep updated with the help of the Project Manager.

　　Monitor job costs and trend logs.

　　Assist Work Planning with estimates regarding, labor, and equipment needs when requested.

　　Ability to handle daily project problems quickly and efficiently.

　　Responsible for working within assigned budget.

　　Interact daily with subordinates, frequently with manager.

　　Ability to work occasional scheduled or unscheduled overtime when necessary.

　　May perform work of the same type as those being supervised, as well as, providing technical guidance.

　　Qualifications

　　Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience.

　　A construction or industrial construction background is required.

　　knowledge of subterranean construction facilities, excavation techniques, and construction management, preferred.

　　Experience in subterranean construction, tunnel design, ventilation systems is a plus.

　　Intermediate computer skills needed experience using excel and Microsoft Office Suite a plus.

　　An ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications is preferred.

　　Knowledge of welding operations a plus.

　　Experience in Tenant Improvements and/or Civil Projects is preferred.

　　The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada). Position requires travel to forward areas located in the NNSS.

　　Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).

　　Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

　　Must have a valid driver's license.

　　MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. ReferenceDOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

　　Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. 　　Annual salary range for this position is:$98,904.00 - $158,246.40.

　　Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
