About Strategic Communications Specialist

  Summary About the Position: Serve as a Strategic Communications Specialist for Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program and the Directorate of Prevention, Resilience and Readiness. The incumbent is responsible for developing strategic communication products and outreach and communication initiatives. Responsibilities Plan, develop, coordinate and disseminate information about Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) and the Directorate of Prevention, Resilience and Readiness programs. Develop multimedia informational products, articles, fact sheets, exhibit materials, news releases, video and audio PSA scripts, web site content, and other products as appropriate. Provide support for special projects and assignments. Prepare strategic communication products on a wide variety of topics and issues with audiences at the highest level of the Army's civilian and military leadership. Provide technical expertise and support on a variety of strategic communication projects and taskings. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching and writing articles of interest for distribution to a variety of audiences; developing and implementing outreach campaigns; and preparing and coordinating written products such as presentations, technical articles, news releases, information flyers, brochures, reports and inputs to reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and Media Multimedia Technologies Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
