  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a member of our Intern program, you will become an invaluable member of our team, assisting Environmental Education Specialists at the beautiful Raccoon Creek State Park. You will be involved in program planning, development, implementation, and various other support tasks. Your main focus will be on environmental education and trail maintenance, which may involve some physically demanding work and exposure to hazardous conditions. Be prepared for outdoor adventures, as hiking and climbing over rough terrain will be part of the job.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employment period will occur between the dates of 5/1/24 - 8/30/24Work hours may vary between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Interns may be required to work nights and weekends, not to exceed 37.5 hours per week.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:Environmental Science/Environmental EducationEnvironmental Science/StudiesPark and Resource ManagementAn approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Freshman year completed.Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
