  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an intern, you will have the opportunity to acquire valuable experience in park operations, resource management, and environmental education. Throughout your time here, you will gain insights into the different facets of overseeing the park's maintenance program, ensuring that the park grounds, structures, facilities, and equipment are well-maintained. Additionally, you will actively participate in the management of the park's natural resources, interpreting and applying park operation rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Moreover, your input will be highly valued in the development, presentation, and implementation of operating policies to effectively manage local park operations.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employment period will occur between the dates of 5/1/24 - 8/30/24Work hours may vary between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. Interns may be required to work nights and weekends, not to exceed 37.5 hours per week.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree, or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:Environmental ScienceBiologyPark and RecreationAn approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Freshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
