The Staff Verification Engineer is an integral team member for our R&D platforms product pipeline, and a key contributor for new product development programs. This represents an excellent opportunity if you are passionate about building groundbreaking surgical capabilities and working in a multi-functional environment!
This role will interact primarily with Product Development, Systems Engineering and Quality, with additional key interactions with other Engineering groups including Project Management.
What You’ll Do:
Develop, characterize, and deploy test fixtures and methods for verification of the R&D product pipeline.
Generate test protocols using procedures against product requirements and author reports to qualify test equipment and validate test methods in a medical device regulated environment.
Partner with Systems Engineering and Product Development SMEs to develop requirements that are clear and testable.
Ability to perform Measurement System Analysis using valid statistical techniques and methodologies.
Able to diagnose and improve sources of variation on simple and sophisticated test fixtures. This includes mechanical, electrical, automation, data analysis and software elements.
Crafts clearly detailed bug reports for anomalies found during test procedures.
Work with Quality Engineering to drive verification planning and lead execution.
Collaborate with other engineers, technicians, assemblers, or other support personnel to lead execution of verification results against strategies.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, or biomedical). MS or PhD Engineering degree preferred.Required Skills & Experience:
7 years of System Verification experience.
Experience in developing and qualifying test equipment and leading test method development through validation.
Experience in test equipment deployment for characterization through official design verification.
Solid understanding of statistics and applicable methodologies for test engineering.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to achieve goals in a very fast paced, highly multifaceted environment. Builds plans that maintain sync with verification strategies.
Working experience in FDA or other highly regulated environment.
Ability to travel up to 30% domestic and international, including overnight stays.
Ability to work in Cincinnati, OH.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
MS or PhD Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or biomedical, with 5 years of System Verification experience.
Working experience with complex medical device systems.
Experience in imaging, visualization or optical test systems.
Experience working in an Agile/software development context/scrum team.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a laboratory/assembly environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.Physical Demands:
May require lifting of up to 50 lbs. and operation of hoisting equipment for heavier loads.
May require prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling during system assembly.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $144,900.
