About the Team:

Illumio's new Machine Learning (ML) team embodies a culture of thought leadership, independence, and responsibility, holding a significant and highly visible role within our Engineering division. This dynamic team is tasked with developing state-of-the-art ML solutions for complex cybersecurity challenges. Working directly with the leadership team, the team shapes Illumio's strategic direction and reinforces our leadership in Zero Trust Segmentation. In a world facing some of the greatest cybersecurity threats in history, the impact of our ML team is profound and far-reaching. 

  We're looking for innovators and engineers who are ready to bring diverse perspectives, innovate relentlessly, and tackle challenging enterprise security issues head-on, leaving a significant mark in the cybersecurity landscape. 

  

About the Role:

As an Applied Research Scientist, you will be applying innovative data science and graph learning algorithms to generate insights from large-scale computer networks to solve cybersecurity issues faced by businesses of all scales. Your contributions will encompass developing advanced machine learning algorithms that would impact our customers directly. To excel in this role, you must possess competent knowledge of deep learning, graph representation learning and building pretrained embeddings models.  

  

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize the state-of-the-art Graph Learning algorithms to generate important insights for users to enforce policy 

  Pretrain graph models and generate embedding representations for multi-label predictions 

  Leverage embeddings for downstream tasks on dynamic temporal graph structures 

  Devise and run experiments to measure model performance on large-scale data 

  Proactively contribute to a new team and product domain, offering strategic insight into state-of-the-art machine learning techniques that can shape the roadmap and vision for the product 

  

Experience:

Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent degree. Master's degree a plus

  8+ years of relevant experience

  Proficiency in modeling graph data and leveraging GNNs/Graph Transformers to generate embeddings 

  Fine-tuning on downstream tasks like recommendations and anomaly detection 

  Comprehensive grasp on machine learning fundamentals and deep learning algorithms 

  Building 0->1 ML products, transitioning initial prototypes to production-ready large-scale machine learning models 

  Production-ready model building experience with PyTorch, PyG, DGL or other graph learning frameworks

  Pay Range:

  $200,000 USD - $240,000 USD

  The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, or applicable laws.
