Description Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for an experienced Staff Accountant to join their growing team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Waukegan, Illinois area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

　　How you will make an impact

　　Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

　　Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

　　Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

　　Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

　　Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

　　Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

　　Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

　　Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

　　Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

　　Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

　　In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

　　Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

　　Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

　　Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

　　Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

　　Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

　　Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

　　Skilled with ERP systems

　　3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)

　　Command of Project Budgets

　　Construction Accounting experience highly desired

　　Lien Waivers experience

　　Financial Audits experience

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
