Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies has an opening for a Space Ops Joint Exercise Planner for an important national Security Program.
Successful applicant will provide systems engineering and advisory support as an Exercise Planner.
This role will provide support for exercises, planning exercise schedules and rotations, and will support and participate in various internal and mission partner external exercises, Master Scenario Event Lists (MSEL), plans, procedures, checklists, after action reports, and final technical reports. The role will also require support in planning and execution meetings, participating in working groups and execution events, managing Courses of Action (COAs), Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP), effectiveness assessment activities, and developing Lessons Learned summaries and products.
The successful candidate should also have experience in developing Joint Training Plans, and identifying and updating training objectives from approved plans in coordination with the respective customers and participants, identifying existing and/or emerging exercise and advance training opportunities in which training objectives may be fulfilled, matching training objectives with identified exercise/advanced training opportunities, and compiling all data into a presentation for senior leadership review and approval.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Experience with exercise planning and/or table-top exercises
Familiarity with Joint Operations and Joint Planning Process
Active TS/SCI Clearance w/ CI Poly Required.

Essential Functions:
Support the Training and Exercises Division in developing all aspects of exercises and experiments (e.g., Concept Development and Planning Conferences)
Support the Training and Exercises Division in all phases of exercise and experiment execution. This includes Pre-Start of Exercise (pre-STARTEX) training, road-to-war preparation and briefings, execution, White Cell support and the Lessons Learned process.
Participating in exercises and other government driven events to derive performance benchmarks and technical utility.
Work full time at a customer site.
Generate, share, present briefings and products for senior leadership and enterprise awareness.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned!
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience with exercise planning and the joint event lifecycle (JELC) of exercise planning
Experience with formal DoD Planning functions to include crisis action planning, deliberate planning, and orders development processes.
Excellent speaking skills—comfortable talking to senior military leadership.
Experienced in developing tactical, operational, and higher headquarters level exercises, wargames, and experiments.
Able to derive senior leadership guidance and recommendations for dynamic training environments and help shape future training needs.
Possess working knowledge of tools used for exercise planning such as Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS), Joint Master Scenario Events List (JMSEL), Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS), Defense Collaboration Services (DCS), Primary Decision Aid System (PDAS), Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD)
Experience working across multiple organizations, directorates, and functions such as space operations, plans, intelligence, cyber operations, logistics and senior leadership to develop comprehensive scenarios and learning objectives.
