Description
The Customer Traffic Data (CTD) division of CBA collects, cleans, standardizes, and produces the foundational traffic data for all Amazon shopping experiences.
Data is our primary product and our data-sets serve thousands of internal teams for two general use cases: 1) automated decision making – such as content ranking, attribution, targeting etc. and 2) Insights and reporting through both our suite of analytics tools, as well as custom business reporting.
We are looking for a passionate software development engineer to help us develop a robust, scalable distributed system supporting the needs of our analytics platform (data streaming, storage, processing) on top of native AWS serverless technologies. This team is innovating using big data technologies. We are innovating through the architecture decisions we make, systems and components that we build which always push the limits of what’s been done before in order to keep the pace with our track record of double the load at half the costs.
Key job responsibilities
As part of this team you will share in the ownership of the technical vision, you will define the technical strategy and direction for advanced analytics products. You will work with top-notch technical professionals developing complex systems at scale and with a focus on sustained operational excellence.

A day in the life
In this role, you will have the opportunity to display your skills in the following areas:
Define technical strategy for your team to sustainably solve complex business problems.
Create and maintain software solutions that generate positive customer feedback.
Work backwards from customer needs into technical strategies, features and new components for the team product.
Create and manage software that runs on native AWS resources including EC2, EMR, Redshift, Athena etc.
Creates metrics, implements automation and other improvements, and resolves the root cause of software defects.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Experience in professional, non-internship software development
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Experience in development in the last 3 years
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
