　　This role is in EC2 Audax, the team responsible for the T (burstable) instance families. We develop the software that ensures customer instances have access to the CPU cycles they need, when they need them, while minimizing the cost of wasted CPU capacity. As we improve the T instance types, we'll support more and more customer workloads, driving down costs and adding value for customers.

　　We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

　　Cape Town, ZAF

　　Basic Qualifications

　　Experience in professional, non-internship software development

　　Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

　　Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

　　Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

　　Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
