POSITION SUMMARY: The Corporate Safety Sr. Program Manager is responsible for the development of all FedEx Office safety and compliance programs. Monitors, and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA and related regulations. Leads, plans,develops, administers, and manages organization safety and disaster recovery policies, programs and training. Requires working knowledge of federal and state safety laws and the ability to identify and evaluate workplace hazards. This role provides day-to-daytactical support as well as overall safety and disaster recovery program development and strategy and oversight. The Corporate Safety Sr. Program Manager provides direction and interacts with various stakeholders and business partners including but not limited to Legal, HR,Communications, and team members from other FedEx operating companies.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct and manage safety and disaster recovery program development and implementation, including budget planning and preparation, business requirements and measurement metrics
Develops, administers, and manages organization safety and disaster recovery policies, programs and training
Manage environmental and safety compliance to ensure Federal, State, and Local law while minimizing impacts from business activities, products, and services
Assess the impact and effectiveness of existing safety programs, determine relative risk, and prioritize initiatives to enhance safety
Assess and develop compliance programs and procedures associated with Hazardous Material handling and storage
Ensures all significant near misses, injuries, and safety events are investigated and abatement measures are implemented
Establishes process to reduce incident rates and environmental impacts while reducing company costs (e.g., workers compensation)
Maintain detailed documentation pertaining to all safety and health matters, including incident reports, risk assessments, Workers Compensation documentation, OSHA 300 logs, and other documentation as required
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with cross-functional and cross-operating company teams
Develop working plans and associated communication documents in collaboration with third party vendors, cross-functional and cross operating company teams in support of overall program objectives
Manage safety quality data; metrics collection, reporting and related actives; conduct root cause analysis and use supporting data to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities to drive process improvements, alignment, and implement changes
Safety program management and development, including enhancements to operational efficiency
Use metrics to identify issues, make decisions, track improvements, including the identification and development of additional metrics as needed
Develop and implement processes and solutions that significantly improve the internal control environment
Present project updates and status to various stakeholders including Executive Management
Partner with Learning and Design team to design facilitate and deploy safety training programs
Communicate with executive management and field management on project status, risks, opportunities, etc.
Prepare high-level business presentations using MS PowerPoint, including usage of relevant data as appropriate
Interact with and direct third-party vendors
Develop and document business requirements, including possible system applications
Research and prepare safety-related program documentation, data, and reporting to support required regulatory approvals and compliance
Deliver detailed in-store safety procedures to support programs
All other duties as needed or required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
5+ years’ experience in Safety Program Management and/or execution
Professional certifications preferred (CSP, OSHA, Hazard Communication, CLPP)
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with Microsoft Project and Business Objects preferred
Experience with budget/cost development and management preferred
Strong analytical, written, and oral communication, organizational and time management skills
Strong knowledge of OSHA, federal and state safety laws
Periodic travel may be required
