Summary: Georgia-Pacific is seeking qualified professionals to consider for Senior Process Engineer roles to support our team in Monticello, MS. This person will lead the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of our pulp and paper production processes. As a senior process engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers and operators, and collaborating with other departments and external stakeholders. You will also be involved in conducting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments for new projects and initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities: Understand safe work practices and lead safety by example. Lead improvements in our processes for consistent, reliable manufacturing of our containerboard paper grades. Work closely with GP's Collaboration and Support Center (CSC) to build predictive modeling for the operations. Look for opportunities in our processes to improve throughput, eliminate waste, reduce cost, or improve quality. Utilize economic and critical thinking and risk-taking mentality to ensure operating costs are minimized wherever practical. Develop and maintain process documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and work instructions. Maintain and track key metrics and provide explanations for metric performance on a weekly and monthly basis -- Uptime, raw material consumption, operating supply usage, and machine speed are examples.
Requirements and Qualifications[]{#Hlk142289191}[]{#Hlk142304825}: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a process engineering role in the pulp and paper industry Strong knowledge of process engineering principles and practices. Experience managing capital projects. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Proficient in using various software tools, such as Microsoft Office, Pi, ISOE Pro, etc.
