Job Description:
The Associate Manager, Operations will lead a team of operators to safely produce high quality hardware to achieve delivery schedules and company financial performance goals. The successful candidate will be working closely with Operations Management and Quality to ensure safe and efficient factory operations.
Essential Functions:
Supervise direct reports to ensure the delivery schedules are achieved and all policies and procedures are upheld.
Provide direct support of personnel in the day-to-day execution of all work flowing through the shop.
Review and approve timecards for all direct reports.
Ensure that the departments are properly staffed to achieve targeted requirements.
Effectively collaborate and communicate across functional departments to ensure an efficient transition of hardware through the factory.
Ensure employee safety throughout the operation process, supporting the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as required.
Eliminate waste, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, resulting in improved efficiency
Create a team environment, leading to production improvements and increased profitability
Perform audits of the shop to ensure it remains safe, organized and clean.
Maintain and use production/process metrics to improve shop performance and to communicate with management.
Ability to quickly identify technical challenges and effectively collaborate with cross functional departments to render solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Willingness to assist in additional job duties as assigned by Management is vital is desired
Strong experience implementing a metric driven approach across all Operations functions
Strong record keeping skills
Working with manufacturing engineering to identify and implement process improvements
Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Microsoft word.
Understanding of lean principals around pull systems, mix/max controls, etc.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
5S+1 Visual Factory
Experience working with Union shop is preferred
Familiarity with welding, machining, clean line, clean room and pressure testing is a plu s
