Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Senior Financial Business Analyst position with a growing consulting firm in Reno. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone with strong financial analysis skills, strength in technology and business intelligence savvy. The person in this role will be a part of a team that works on a variety of projects for external clients, to create useful and specialized business reporting tools. You will develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models, work collaboratively with your colleagues and customers, and help customers gain better insights into their company’s performance.

● Collaborate with team members and customers to gather business requirements and deliver data insights.

● Translate business requirements into technical specifications.

● Understand financial statements and build custom reports using data models,

● Develop clear and useful Power BI dashboards, using appropriate visualizations,

● Be proficient at writing custom DAX measures (knowledge of SQL is a plus),

● Understand relational databases structures and ability to efficiently translate structured data into effective reports, and

● Be a “get things done” individual, who wants to add value to your clients and colleagues.

● Stay updated with the latest BI features and technologies, recommending updates and improvements where necessary.

To be considered for the role:

● Proven experience working effectively over multiple projects.

● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI,

● Ability to write clear DAX to build measures for data models (familiarity with SQL or other data manipulation languages/tools a plus),

● Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills,

● Self-learner, who is eager to work hard to solve complex problems,

● Strong understanding of corporate financial analysis, including financial statements, financial modeling, and cash flow forecasting,

● Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings to customers and colleagues,

● Ability to work well within a small team environment, and desires to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver on high expectations.

The company offers the opportunity to do very interesting work on a high performing team. The role is 5 days per week in office, in Reno but does offer flexibility. They offer a very strong benefits package, lots of opportunity for growth and competitive compensation. This is a billable hours environment, and the expectation is 40 billable hours per week, so work hours are probably 45-50 per week.

Requirements

• Applicant must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of a Financial Analyst or a related field

• Proficiency in Business Systems is a key requirement for this role.

• Strong knowledge and experience in Data Mining Techniques are essential.

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions and the ability to interpret financials is required.

• The candidate should have experience in Ad Hoc Financial Analysis.

• The ability to perform Complex Financial Analysis is a critical requirement for this position.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI is necessary.

• Knowledge of Power Query is a crucial requirement for this role.

• The candidate should ideally have experience in Dax Technologies.

• Proficiency in Excel VBA SQL is a must

• Experience in Business Analysis is a key requirement for this position.
