We have an excellent opportunity for a talented Customer Technical Services, Hot Section Engineer to be based in East Hartford, CT.
A position is available in the PW1100G-JM / GTF Advantage Customer Technical Services (CTS) group for a Hot Section Customer Service Engineer. The PW1100G / GTF Advantage CTS Engineer will work directly with airline customers, Field Support Representatives (FSRs), and Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul (MRO) facilities in support of hot section related technical data issues, field retrofits, and proactive engine manual maturation. This assignment offers interesting and exciting insight into technical issues related to field service and maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiate technical data development via Engineering Authorization (EA) documents for Engine Maintenance Manual (EMM), Engine Shop Manual (EM), and Clean, Inspect, Repair (CIR) manuals including engine, module, subassembly, and piece part level inspections, assembly, and disassembly procedures, in support of Airbus A320Neo PW1100G-JM series engines. These EAs provide the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) required by the regulatory authority as part of the engine PART 33 certification.
Support activities with the following organizations to ensure the clear, accurate and timely development of manual updates, discretionary acceptance, and one-time acceptance EAs: CTRP, DARO, FMP Service Programs, MRO facilities, Standard Practices (SPOP), CIPT, various Engineering disciplines, Aftermarket Operations (AMOE) groups, and FAA Organization Designation Authorities (ODAs) in support of:
MRO facility workstop prevention/resolution requiring expedited review of defect findings beyond serviceable limits and assembly/disassembly issues.
Support hot section Class Engineering Changes (ECs) – Coordinate with Component Integrated Product Teams (CIPT), Design, Configuration Management (CM), Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI), Maintenance Data Engineering (MDE), and aftermarket organizations throughout entire process in order to formulate fleet retrofit plan to ensure that customers maintain reliable and cost-effective operations, generate Service Bulletin (SB) source data, and ensure accurate Technical Data Package (TDP) content for part reoperation, module part progression and reidentification procedures.
Resolve technical concerns on the flight line resulting in Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and create Special Instructions (SIs) for engine or operator specific field and MRO procedures.
Coordinate Customer Part Return (CPR) shipments and investigations on distressed or event related hardware, and outsourcing activities involving EA creation and engineering database (TeamCenter) processing.
Travel: 10%: Airline maintenance base and MRO facility visits as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology);
5+ years of Engineering experience, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior engineering experience with commercial aircraft engines is preferred.
Advanced degree is preferred but not required.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
