　　Job Summary:

　　At Caterpillar’s Decatur, IL facility, we manufacture and assemble Large Mining and Construction equipment. In this role as a Senior Design Engineer/Technologist, you will report to the Manager Engineering and will be primarily responsible for overseeing new product design and design improvements to current products for all the major Heavy fabrication subsystems. As a member of the Wheeled Products Large Mining Truck Structures team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. 　　What you will do:

　　Design Heavy Fabrications and Castings (e.g. frames, steering arms, axles boxes, large weldments, castings)

　　Allocated time to NPI, CPI, maintenance, process improvement, and personal development

　　Proactively identify and mitigate risks for successful project introductions

　　Prioritize workload and create delegation plans to improve time, cost and quality metrics

　　Communicate progress & results to customers, suppliers, team members and functional community

　　Identify opportunities to share deep technical expertise and mentor others

　　Manage both workload and technical needs of the on-shore and off-shore designers, assigned to support the projects where this Heavy Fabs and Castings designer is responsible.

　　Travel to suppliers, manufacturing facilities, and customers domestically and internationally

　　What Skills you will have:

　　Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

　　Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

　　Managing Multiple Priorities : Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

　　Technical Excellence : Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

　　Computer-Aided Design & Engineering : Knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs; ability to produce, analyze, simulate and test product design drafts.

　　Product Design - MFG : Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools and techniques of product design; ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.

　　Product Design and Development : Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

　　Education and Experience requirement:

　　Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in an accredited Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering program

　　6+ years of progressive engineering experience

　　Top Candidates will also have:

　　Hands-on experience in mining or construction machinery operations, manufacturing processes like: welding, machining and foundry.Additional Information:
