About Sr. Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer - APQP Engineer

As an Sr Advanced Product Quality Planning Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our product development process. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, specifically for ROCKY MOUNT Products, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of high-quality aerospace products. Your expertise in quality engineering and process improvement will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

You will report directly to our APQP Manager and you'll work out of our Rocky Mount, NC location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the future of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies by championing quality initiatives, driving process improvements, and ensuring the successful launch of high-quality aerospace products, with a specific focus on engines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate quality risks, develop robust quality plans, and drive continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and maintain the Sr Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, specifically for engines, to ensure the successful launch of high-quality aerospace products

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate quality risks throughout the aerospace product development lifecycle

• Develop and execute robust quality plans, including control plans, FMEAs, and PPAPs, with a focus on engines/components/hardware

• Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Measurement System Repeatability and Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA) to ensure accurate and reliable measurement systems for components/products

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction, with a specific focus on engine performance and reliability

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues related to products

• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements and drive supplier quality improvement initiatives for components

• Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams on quality-related matters related to products

• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in quality engineering for aerospace products

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, Program Management or related roles, with a focus on leading projects, supporting customers overseeing products

2 years of strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and tools, specifically for Aerospace Military products

2 years of experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing quality management systems for Aerospace Military products

Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as AS9145 (Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process)

WE VALUE

Degree in Quality and/or Assurance will be considered

Lean/Six Sigma certification

Project Program Management (PMP) skills leadership

Experience in the aerospace industry, specifically in engine/hardware development and manufacturing

Direct customer experience – supporting APQP artifacts deliverables

Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as AS13100 (Advanced Product Quality Planning for Engines)

Experience with statistical analysis tools and techniques

Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
