  The Program

  At Novo Nordisk, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For ten weeks, interns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and a guided mentorship program to offer professional and personal development.

  In addition to individual department responsibilities, interns will also participate in the program’s capstone event, the Innovation in Action Case Competition. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative and comprehensive solution to a business problem currently facing Novo Nordisk. At the conclusion of the program, teams will present their findings to a board of top Novo Nordisk officials representing the various lines of business.

  Program Start: June 3rd, 2024.

  Program End: August 9th, 2024.

  Scope of Position

  The intern will support both the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEI&B) and Employee Relations (ER) teams. The intern's primary responsibility will include building out the DEI&B/Culture and ER internal SharePoint sites, which also will entail researching, updating, and creating leader tools and resources for each area.

  In supporting the DEI&B team - The intern will be responsible for leading the development and launch of a DEI&B Degreed (Novo Nordisk's learning platform) pathway, which will entail researching and linking learning resources for all employees within Novo Nordisk to educate themselves regarding various DEI&B topics. Additionally, the intern will support the Team’s increased focus on Inclusion and Belonging via new initiatives that will be launched later in 2024.

  In supporting the ER team - The intern will be responsible for assisting with the build out of Novo Nordisk's conflict resolution program, creating a repository of ER guiding principles and researching and formalizing ER investigation guidelines in partnership with internal EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) and Compliance investigators. The intern will also have the opportunity to work closely with members of the ER team to partner throughout the ER case life cycle, including intake, interviews, documentation review, editing, and writing, as well as closeout actions.

  Other responsibilities will include assisting with case entry in the case management system, monitoring and analyzing exit survey data, and assistance with facilitating routine disciplinary actions.

  Physical Requirements

  0% overnight travel required.

  Qualifications

  Must be a current student enrolled or recently graduated (graduation date no earlier than April 2024) at/from an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree.

  A completed or in progress master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or a related discipline preferred.

  Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail.

  Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task.

  Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers.

  Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn.

  Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
