Description There's currently a vacancy at a thriving Transport company for an experienced Senior Accountant on a permanent basis in the Omaha, Nebraska area. As a Senior Accountant, your duties will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant role is located in Omaha, Nebraska within the Transport field.
Your responsibilities
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations Requirements - Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Proficient in ERP systems
Experience with general ledger
GAAP Accounting experience
Expertise in financial statement preparation
Deep understanding of Profit and loss
Financial Statement experience desired
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Must have excellent time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
