We are seeking a Lead, Business Operations (Financial), to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The selected individual will prepare and maintain budgets, establish earnings plans, and develop estimates at completion of assigned government aerospace/defense projects.
In this role, the individual will serve a vital function by applying Earned Value Management (EVM), Finance, and Accounting skills to approve requisitions; prepare financial reporting on a major defense program; use metrics associated with management best practices and prepare reports to reflect Awards, Sales, Profit, and Cash. May also assist proposal teams, develop bases-of-estimate, provide actuals data, and support fact-finding/negotiations as needed.
Essential Functions:
Perform budgeting, forecasting, forward pricing estimates, ETC/EAC, revenue recognition (605/606), monitor cash flow and performance measurement system status (EVM) and maintenance utilizing computers/systems as required to perform responsibilities and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Perform Earned Value Management - Review and analyze contract status/progress and prepare variance analysis reports apprising management of trends and anomalies which effect performance.
Evaluate, prioritize, and categorize data (Risk Management) in various forms and formats using proper accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Utilize organizational skills to effectively coordinate schedules and work flow utilizing the knowledge of operations (manufacturing, engineering, test, etc.) as required to accomplish assigned activities and an understanding of business management systems.
Using knowledge of governmental accounting methods, procedures and regulations, determine solutions to objectives demonstrating a complete understanding and application of principles, concepts and practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or an appropriate discipline, and ten (10) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
